Famous comedian of Uttarakhand Ghananand Gagodia alias Ghanna Bhai has passed away. He breathed his last at Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital in Dehradun. He was admitted to Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital after his health deteriorated yesterday, where Ghananand was kept on ventilator for several days. At the same time, the news of his death has caused a wave of mourning among the fans and family members.

The hospital’s PRO Bhupendra Raturi has confirmed his death. He told that the famous folk artist of Uttarakhand Ghananand died of cardiac arrest some time ago. He told that the doctors of the hospital tried to give him CPR, but he could not revive.

Famous comedian Ghananand alias Ghanna Bhai had his prostate operation at Indresh Hospital two months ago. At the same time, Ghananand was admitted to the hospital due to blood in the urine. Investigation revealed that Ghananand’s prostate gland was enlarged, after which he was operated on 5 November 2024.

Let us tell you that the famous comedian of Uttarakhand, Ghanananda Gagodia was born in Garhwal Mandal in the year 1953. Ghanananda got his education from Cantt Board Lansdowne District Pauri Garhwal. He started his journey as a comedian in Ramlilas in the year 1970. He has also worked in many films of Uttarakhand. Prominent among them are Gharjavain, Chakrachal, Beti-Bwari, Jeetu Bagdwal, Satmangalya, Bwari Ho Ta Yani, Ghanna Bhai MBBS, Ghanna Girgit and Yamraj.

Ghannananda did many programs in radio in the year 1974 and later on Doordarshan. He also tried his luck in politics and contested from Pauri assembly on BJP ticket in the year 2012 assembly elections, but he had to face defeat. After which he has been playing the role of star campaigner for BJP in the elections.

Ghanananda was a seasoned comedian

Ghanananda ‘Ghannabhai’ was a seasoned actor of Uttarakhand theatre. He was born in 1953 in Gagod village of Pauri. He was educated from Cantt Board Lansdowne district Pauri Garhwal. He was a natural actor. Whatever role he got in a film or on stage, he would get so engrossed in it that if he had the role of a comedian, he would make everyone laugh till they rolled on the floor.
