First case of death due to Guillain-Barre syndrome in Mumbai, total number of cases in Maharashtra now 8

First death due to GB syndrome in Mumbai

After Pune, now the series of deaths due to GBS syndrome has started in Mumbai. Recently, a 53-year-old patient infected with this disease has died in Mumbai (First Death Due to GB Virus in Mumbai). The deceased was put on ventilator after getting infected, after which he died. Let us tell you that the deceased was working as a ward boy at BMC’s BN Desai Hospital. Let us tell you that a total of 8 deaths have been recorded due to this virus in Maharashtra so far.

What is GB syndrome?

GB syndrome is a type of rare neurological disease. The symptoms of this disease are quite similar to swine flu. After suffering from this syndrome, the nervous system of the workers is affected. Sometimes it can take a person from a few weeks to a few years to recover from GB syndrome. When suffering from this disease, the person’s immune system becomes a threat to its own nervous system. The immune system starts attacking our peripheral nervous system.

Symptoms of GB syndrome

  • Many changes can be seen in the patient’s body when this syndrome occurs.
  • In such a situation, you may have muscle weakness as well as tingling.
  • If you are infected with GB syndrome, you may also face difficulty in seeing.
  • In this condition, pain can be felt in the legs and waist etc.
  • Sometimes there can be difficulty in walking or maintaining balance.
  • In some cases, the patient may also have problems in swallowing and breathing.
