Uttarakhand: Haldwani- BJP terminated membership of 31 leaders in municipal elections, strict action taken on anti-party activities

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled 31 leaders who contested against the party’s authorized candidates in the Haldwani Municipal Corporation elections and terminated their primary membership for 6 years. BJP District President Pratap Bisht took this action after consultation with State President Mahendra Bhatt and District Incharge Kailash Sharma. The expelled leaders also include several former and outgoing councilors. These leaders contested independently against the party’s authorized candidates in various wards. Earlier, 47 leaders involved in anti-party activities in the Uttarakhand Municipal Corporation elections were also expelled from the BJP for 6 years. These included several leaders of Dehradun Metropolitan, who contested against the party’s authorized candidates or participated in the elections from other parties. The BJP has taken this step with the aim of maintaining party discipline and taking strict action against members working against the organization.
