Uttarakhand: Tiger attacks employee in Jim Corbett Park, worker was on patrol in Bijrani range

During patrolling in Jim Corbett National Park, a tiger attacked a daily wage worker. Other employees present there fired three rounds in the air to save the worker’s life, after which the tiger left the worker and ran towards the forest.

On Thursday morning, Ganesh Pawar, a daily wage worker of the department, was patrolling with other employees in Kania Beat area under Bijrani Range of Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, when suddenly a tiger attacked Ganesh from behind. After Ganesh’s screams, other employees present there fired three rounds in the air to save Ganesh from the tiger’s clutches. After this, the tiger left the employee in a bloody condition and ran towards the forest. The injured employee Ganesh was taken to the government hospital in Ramnagar for treatment.

Officials reached to meet the injured employee

The officials were informed about the incident, after which Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Dr. Saket Badola and Deputy Director Rahul Mishra reached the government hospital where they enquired about the condition of the injured employee. While giving information, Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Dr. Saket Badola said that today during patrolling, a tiger attacked an employee and injured him. He said that a team has been formed to monitor the tiger and permission has also been given by the Chief Wildlife Warden to tranquilize this tiger.

Panic among the people of the area

After the incident, there is also panic among the villagers of the area. At present, the injured employee is undergoing treatment in the hospital. He said that if needed, after consulting the doctors, the injured employee will also be treated in a better hospital. Let us tell you that if we talk about the last 18 months, people have lost their lives in tiger attacks in more than 18 incidents. At the same time, more than 15 people have been injured.
