Preparations for PM Modi’s winter stay intensify, activities in Mukhaba intensify, DM takes charge
Preparations are being made at a fast pace in Harshil-Mukhwa area of Uttarkashi district for the proposed winter visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This area is being decorated to welcome the Prime Minister. Along with the construction of roads and parking, other preparations are also being carried out on a war footing.
In view of PM Modi’s visit, the finishing work of the road being built to the army helipad at Harshil is also in its final stage. Today, during the on-site inspection of the preparations being made for the proposed program of the Prime Minister, District Magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht reached this helipad in his vehicle. Due to the absence of a road, till now one had to travel on foot to this helipad operated by the army. As a result of this helipad in the strategically very important border area being connected to the road, the army will get a lot of convenience.
In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, the work of decorating the Ganga temple in Mukhaba village, the winter residence of Gangaji, as well as beautifying the ancient buildings of the village is being done. Along with renovating the footpath to the temple in Mukhaba, stairs have been constructed for the temple. All these works are in the final stage. A view-point is being built in the temple premises itself so that the Prime Minister can observe the picturesque natural beauty of the Himalayas and Harshil Valley after offering prayers here. Many works are being done to improve and make the road to Mukhaba safe. Construction of parking in the village is also in the final stage.
Along with inspecting the temple premises, the District Magistrate held a meeting with Gangotri Temple Committee President Dharmanand Semwal and Secretary Suresh Semwal and Panda-Priests and discussed the outline and arrangements of the proposed program. The District Magistrate said that Mukhaba will be decorated in a grand manner on the arrival of the Prime Minister. The officials of the temple committee gave information about the preparations being made by the temple committee and the villagers to welcome the Prime Minister. He said that on this historic occasion, the villagers are also preparing to present traditional dances in honor of the Prime Minister. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm and celebration in Mukhaba village regarding the proposed visit of the Prime Minister.
The District Magistrate, while inspecting the ongoing works in Harshil, directed the officers to camp here continuously and get all the works completed on a war footing. The District Magistrate said that the higher officials will soon come here and inspect. All the works will be completed within a week. The District Magistrate inspected the works of the event venue, road, parking etc. in Harshil and also took stock of the electricity and drinking water supply system, cleanliness and construction of toilets in this area.
