Uttar Pradesh: 2 ADMs of Bareilly suspended, action taken in land scam of Sitarganj four lane highway

Adopting a zero tolerance policy on corruption, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the dismissal of a senior PCS officer and suspension of two PCS officers.

Current ADM Judicial/Special Land Administration Officer Ashish Kumar and Bareilly’s City Magistrate/Special Land Administration Officer Madan Kumar have been suspended in the scam of more than a hundred crores by manipulating the land acquisition evaluation for Sitarganj four-lane highway and Western Ring Road. Both the officers have been attached to the Revenue Board and the process of dismissal has been started.

More than 15 officers of Bareilly and Pilibhit have been suspended in this case. Apart from many other PCS, there are indications of action against the Lekhpal and Revenue Inspector of Tehsil Sadar and Tehsil Nawabganj in this case. PCS Ashish Kumar was currently posted as ADM Judicial and was also handling the charge of Special Land Administration Officer since last year.

This scam has come to light during his tenure. Madan Kumar has been the city magistrate in Bareilly in 2021 and he held the charge of Special Land Acquisition Officer for a long time. It was during his time that the evaluation work for land acquisition for the Sitarganj four-lane highway was done. After his departure, many officers have had the charge of Special Land Acquisition Officer. Madan Kumar is currently posted as ADM in Mau. Both the officers have been attached to the Revenue Board.

Senior PCS Ganesh Prasad Singh dismissed

Lucknow. Ganesh Prasad Singh, who was dismissed, was accused of financial irregularities while he was the Chief Revenue Officer in Jaunpur. He was suspended and attached to the Revenue Board. It is alleged that even while living in Kushinagar, he had leased the land of Gram Samaj against the rules.

The government sought a report from the District Magistrate of Kushinagar in this regard, in which a proposal was sent to the Chief Minister for action against him after the irregularities were confirmed. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, action for dismissal has been taken against him.
