38th National Games: Uttarakhand made a big mark with the successful organization, CM Dhami’s leadership was also proved again

The 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand have proved to be a milestone this time, right from the arrangements to the organisation. This time the National Games were in discussions for everything from environment friendly steps to facilities and health care of the players.
Uttarakhand had a splendid performance
Before the 38th National Games, Uttarakhand had never had such a splendid performance in this event. After the establishment of the state, whenever Uttarakhand participated in the National Games, the number of medals it received ranged from ten to 19. Similarly, in the medal table, it has been somewhere between the 13th position to the 26th position. The same has been the case with gold medals, the number of which has ranged from one to a maximum of five. Now if we talk about the 38th National Games, there has been a radical change in the total medals, gold and the position in the medal table. The total number of medals has reached 103. Uttarakhand has surprised everyone by scoring a hundred medals. Similarly, the number of gold medals has been 24. Coming to the seventh position in the medal tally is indeed an amazing experience. Big states like West Bengal, Punjab, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra, Jammu and Kashmir are behind Uttarakhand in the medal tally.
Third Himalayan state to host National Games
A relatively small state like Uttarakhand got very little time to prepare for the National Games. Organising a successful event was no less than a challenge, as it has been only 25 years since Uttarakhand became a state. The neighbouring hill state Himachal, whose model is often talked about, has never got the chance to host the National Games. After Manipur and Assam, Uttarakhand has become the third Himalayan state to host the National Games. Jharkhand, which got the status of a state along with Uttarakhand in the year 2000, organised the National Games in the year 2011, whereas Chhattisgarh could not organise it despite getting the hosting rights. Uttarakhand prepared a strong infrastructure for the 38th National Games. State-of-the-art equipment was ordered. Due to this, many records were also broken. Necessary facilities were provided for ten thousand players.
The theme of Green Games is a big achievement
The most important green initiative in the National Games was. Many steps were taken to implement the theme of Green Games. A sports forest was prepared on 2.77 hectares of land in Raipur, where 1600 plants are being planted in the name of medal winners. Whether it is medals for the players winning the games or invitation cards for the guests, all were prepared from e-waste. The mascot was the state bird Monal. Symbols of sports waste material were displayed at the venue for green awareness. E-rickshaws and bicycles were used for movement from one place to another at the venue. Apart from this, arrangements were made from the use of solar panels to reusable water bottles for water. Apart from the green initiative, sanitary napkins and other necessary items were given to the female players in the welcome kit to give the message of women’s health. 250 liters of oil that had been used three times was sent to make bio diesel.
CM Dhami congratulated
CM Dhami has congratulated the entire team on the successful hosting of the 38th National Games. CM Dhami has said that, we considered it a big achievement for ourselves from the very first day. All efforts were made to make this event grand. Infrastructure was prepared and high-level facilities were arranged. Certainly, Uttarakhand has emerged stronger in the field of sports after organizing the National Games. I congratulate everyone for the successful event.
