There is tremendous enthusiasm among the villagers of Mukhaba and Harshil due to the proposed winter visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 February in Mukhaba village, the home of Maa Ganga. The arrival of the Prime Minister in Mukhaba and Harshil on 27 February will further promote tourism and pilgrimage in Uttarkashi, due to which a lot of enthusiasm is visible among the people here.

Although this area needs no introduction, but the arrival of the Prime Minister is expected to increase the number of tourists and devotees here. Mukhaba, the winter residence of Gangotri, the main place among the four Dhams, and Harshil, the travel stop, are known for their natural beauty. Due to this, this area has also been a favorite for shooting Bollywood films.

The film Raat Teri Ganga Maili was shot in Harshil in the 1980s and in the year 2019, the film Narendra Modi based on the life of Prime Minister Modi was also shot here. Devotees coming to Gangotri Dham during the Yatra period definitely visit Harshil. The state government is making efforts to ensure that people reach the winter residences in the four Dhams in large numbers. For this, the winter Chardham Yatra is being promoted. In such a situation, the PM’s winter visit will also strengthen the efforts of the state government. It is also expected that the PM’s visit to Mukhaba and Harshil will also give wings to tourism and pilgrimage here.

The Prime Minister will be welcomed with traditional dance

Gangotri Temple Committee Secretary Suresh Semwal said that the Prime Minister’s visit to Mukhaba and Harshil will increase tourism and pilgrimage by about 50 percent. To welcome the Prime Minister, the temple committee has completed all the preparations including Rangargon in the temple located in Mukhaba.

On the arrival of the Prime Minister, the women of Mukhaba village will perform the traditional Raso dance. On the other hand, Tirtha-Purohit Sudhanshu Semwal says that the villagers of the village are excited about the arrival of the Prime Minister. They are busy decorating and beautifying the village. The winter journey will definitely gain momentum with the arrival of the Prime Minister.
