Uttarakhand: Attachment of 900 teachers and employees of the state ends, Director General of Education issued instructions

In the education department, the attachment of all teachers has been terminated except those who are seriously ill and attached to the Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Director General of Education Jharna Kamthan has issued instructions in this regard. It has been told that the number of such teachers is around 900. On 23 September 2024, the media had published the news of the affiliation game going on in the state for the desired deployment of teachers. On this, the departmental minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat had summoned the report of such teachers and directed action in the matter.

The Director General of Education said in the instructions issued that it has come to the notice that many teachers and employees are attached to other schools and offices except their original school. On which the Education Minister, in a meeting held on February 8, 2025, directed to end the attachment of all such teachers and send them to the original school. After the instructions of the minister, now the affiliation of such teachers and employees has been terminated. The Director General of Education said that those teachers who are attached as per the government order. Their attachment will not be terminated.

These teachers and employees will be accommodated in the schools and offices of need. For this, a clear proposal should be made available to the Directorate General through the Directorate. So that approval can be taken from the government on the relevant proposal. It has been said in the instructions that in future, action will be taken to employ teachers as per the requirement only after the approval of the government.

The Director General of Education also said in the instructions that teachers will be posted in some cases till the end of the education session. Schools where there are no subject teachers despite having sufficient student number. Teachers will also be posted in the event of teachers being without teachers due to retirement, transfer, teachers being on leave for a long time and other reasons.

The news was prominently published on the affiliation of teachers in the education department. After which Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat had directed the department to call for the report of such teachers. Then Director General of Education Jharna Kamthan said that she took charge on September 7, 2024. This affiliation of teachers is from September 6 or before.

According to the government order, the attachment of all teachers has been terminated except those who are attached. The director has been instructed to release such teachers for their original schools. At the same time, a proposal should be sent for the deployment of teachers in schools where there is a need.
