Why does RSS focus only on Hindu society? Mohan Bhagwat told the reason behind this

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has stressed on uniting the Hindu society. He said that people often ask us why do you focus only on Hindu society. The answer to this is that the responsible society of the country is the Hindu society. This is a society full of the spirit of responsibility, so it is necessary for it to be united.

The Sangh wants to unite the Hindu society: Bhagwat
The Sangh chief was addressing the RSS Madhya Banga province meeting in Bardhaman, Bengal on Sunday. The Sangh chief said that Hindus move forward accepting the diversity of the world and everyone has their own characteristics. Bhagwat said that the one-line answer to what the Sangh wants to do is that the Sangh wants to unite the entire Hindu society.

India has its own unique nature

Mohan Bhagwat further said that India is not just geography. India has its own unique nature. Some people could not live according to these values. Such people made their own separate country, but those who stayed here naturally adopted the basic element of India… and what is this basic element? It is the Hindu society that thrives by accepting the diversity of the world. We say ‘unity in diversity’, but Hindu society believes that diversity is unity.

Discussing the objectives of the Sangh, Bhagwat said that if you want to understand the Sangh, become its volunteer. Our tradition is full of sacrifice and dignity. Bhagwat said that in India no one remembers emperors and Maharajas, but remembers Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram who went to exile for 14 years to fulfill his father’s promise and Bharat who placed his brother’s sandals on the throne and handed over the kingdom to him on returning from exile.

These characteristics define India. People who follow these values are Hindus and they keep the diversity of the entire country united.

Challenges will come even in good times

Reiterating the need for Hindu unity, Bhagwat said that challenges will come even in good times. The nature of the problem is irrelevant. “What is important is how prepared we are to face them,” he said. Speaking on historical invasions from Alexander till date, Bhagwat said “a handful of barbarians, who were not superior in qualities, ruled India”. Bhagwat attributed this to betrayal within society.

The RSS chief emphasised that social participation is necessary to change the destiny of a nation. He emphasised that India was not created by the British and argued that the notion of India being divided was planted in the minds of people by the British.
