Now 14 trains including Sangam Express will run from Phaphamau instead of Prayag, efforts are on to reduce the pressure of crowd

After the accident at New Delhi Railway Station, Northern Railway has made some more major changes for crowd management amid the emergency plan. After the closure of Sangam Station, the nearest railway station to the Maha Kumbh area, the large number of crowds gathering at Prayag Station, and the traffic jams there, now the passengers will be taken to Phaphamau Railway Station.

14 major trains including Sangam Express will now be run from Phaphamau instead of Prayag. This station is in the northern part of the city across Ganga. In such a situation, devotees will move towards Phaphamau through Ganga Path and the passengers who come inside the city will be sent via Bank Road via Telierganj, some passengers will be sent towards Uptran from Mazar Square, from Chhota Baghada via Salori towards Shivkuti and then from Gangapath via Pipa Bridge or Phaphamau Bridge, they will reach Phaphamau Station.

Although daily trains and special trains will continue to operate from Prayag Station, but an attempt will be made to get rid of the problem of traffic jam inside the city by diverting the flow of crowd towards Phaphamau. If the crowd goes to Phaphamau then this strategy will be effective. However, it will be difficult for the passengers to walk 12 kilometers to Phaphamau, in such a situation, if shuttle buses and other means of transport are available, then the benefits of the scheme will be visible in a day itself.

These trains will be operated from Phaphamau till 28 February
