Uttarakhand: Lawyers protested against UCC, staged a sit-in protest and sent a memorandum to the CM, said livelihood is in danger!

There is a continuous protest against the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand. Now lawyers have also come out in this protest. Lawyers say that their work is being affected due to the UCC law. Apart from this, lawyers have also opposed the online registration process of land. In Ramnagar of Nainital district, lawyers have sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Sub-Divisional Magistrate regarding their demands.

Let us tell you that after the implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand, advocates of different districts have started opposing it. Advocates have started opposing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implemented in Uttarakhand and the online registration process of land.

Advocates allege that their work is being snatched away through the online process. In this sequence, under the banner of Bar Association, advocates raised slogans against the government in Ramnagar and demanded the cancellation of Uniform Civil Code.

Bar Association President Lalit Tiwari said that online registrations are being done under UCC, which is not right. Lalit Tiwari says that under UCC, apart from will and marriage registration, the land registration process has also been digitalized, which is affecting the work of lawyers.

Bar Association Secretary Santosh Devrani said that the new provisions of the new law UCC are directly affecting the livelihood of lawyers, which will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Until the rights of lawyers are not included in the marriage or registration process like before, it will be opposed. If the government does not take any step in this direction, the lawyers will hold a meeting and decide the future strategy.
