Uttarakhand: Fake call center busted, cheated foreign nationals in Dehradun, this is how they used to do the fraud

Uttarakhand STF has exposed a fake call center located on Saharanpur Road in Dehradun. From where the game of cheating the citizens of America and Canada was going on. Police has arrested 13 accused from the spot.

They used to cheat by posing as Microsoft and Apple officials
STF SSP Navneet Singh while giving information said that this illegal call center was being operated in a building in the name of a company named ICS (I Create Solution). The gang members used to call the citizens of America and Canada through X-LITE dialer by posing as Microsoft and Apple officials. They used to scare them by sending fake pop up messages that Pornhub or other pornographic websites have been viewed on their computer. After this, they used to extort money from them by threatening their system to be hacked or fraud from their bank account.

Police arrested 13 accused
On February 18, the STF team raided the call center and arrested 13 accused in connection with the case. The police have recovered 13 laptops, four mobiles, 10 headphones and many digital devices from the spot. During interrogation, the accused admitted that they were committing fraud for a long time. Investigation of the call records of the accused revealed calls from foreign numbers, fake scripts and banking transactions.

This is how the accused used to carry out the fraud
The accused first used to get apps like Anydesk, Team viewer, ultra viewer installed in the mobile or computer of the victims. This gave them remote access. After that, the gang members used to scare the victims by accusing them of watching porn websites. After this, they used to extort money in the name of fixing their system. The police have arrested all the accused and registered a case against them.
