Uttarakhand: Kanungo arrested red handed while taking bribe of two thousand rupees, Vigilance team caught him
The vigilance team has arrested Kanungo Krishan Pal, posted in Roorkee Consolidation Office, red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 2000. After the arrest, the vigilance team is searching the house and other hideouts of the accused.

The complainant had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Establishment on toll free number 1064 that after the death of his brother, his uncle was refusing to give the agricultural land inherited by his five nieces. In this regard, one of his nieces had lodged a case with the Settlement Consolidation Officer, Roorkee. Earlier also, Kanungo Krishan Pal had taken a bribe of Rs 4000 for putting a report in the file.
Police is searching the hideouts of the accused
The complainant told that the Kanungo is now demanding a bribe of Rs 2000 to send the file to the Consolidation Officer, which the complainant does not want to give. The vigilance team formed a trap team and on 19 February, taking action as per rules, arrested Krishnapal red handed while accepting a bribe of two thousand rupees near the Tehsildar office in Roorkee. The police is searching the hideouts of the accused.
