Uttarakhand: ‘Even now the government has left the way open for the distribution of land by roaming around’, Karan Mahara spoke on land law

In Uttarakhand, the Dhami cabinet has taken a big decision and put its stamp on a strict land law, but the Congress has raised questions on it. Congress state president Karan Mahara has given his reaction on the land law. He said that after a long delay, the Dhami government has taken steps forward with half-hearted preparations on the land law. Congress will prepare a further strategy after studying the land law completely.
Congress state president Karan Mahara issued a statement saying that when the draft of the land law will be placed on the table of the House, only after studying it, any reaction can be given, but according to the information received now, the people of the state were demanding a strong land law. The government has not shown any curiosity in bringing it.
He said that the land law passed by the cabinet will be applicable only in 11 districts of the state. There will be a ban on land purchase for agriculture and forestry in these 11 districts. However, land can be purchased for other purposes with the consent of the government. Mahara says that even now the government has kept the way open for land distribution by twisting and turning.
Land law has been misused the most in the plain districts
Karan Mahara said that land law has been misused the most in the plain districts. In such a situation, people are buying land in the name of agriculture and horticulture and using it for commercial and residential activities.
Congress state president Karan Mahara alleged that the land law passed by the cabinet has left full possibilities for land mafias. This has caused great disappointment among the agitating organizations and the general public of the state. He says that the party will prepare its future strategy only after closely studying the land law brought by the BJP government.
