In the ICC Champions Trophy (Champions Trophy 2025), the Indian team has started its campaign with a win by defeating Bangladesh. Team India won this match by six wickets. Gill also scored the eighth century (101*) of his ODI career in 129 balls. Which includes nine fours and two sixes. The team won the match by scoring 231 runs for the loss of four wickets in just 46.3 overs. Despite Bangladesh’s poor start, Tauheed Hridoy batted brilliantly and scored a century. Due to which Bangladesh was able to put a respectable score on the board.
India’s innings
Chasing 229 runs, Indian team captain Shohit Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill gave a great start. However, Rohit returned to the pavilion after scoring 41 runs. Virat Kohli, who came to bat, lost his wicket cheaply after scoring 22 runs, Shreyas Iyer 15 and Axar Patel eight runs. After this, there was a partnership of 87 runs for the fifth wicket between KL Rahul and Shubman Gill. KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 41 runs. Talking about bowling, Rishad Hussain took two wickets, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman got one wicket each.
Scored eight centuries in the least number of innings
Gill batted brilliantly against Bangladesh. Maintaining his rhythm, he scored his eighth century in 51 innings in yesterday’s match. In this matter, he left behind Shikhar Dhawan. He had scored eight centuries in 57 innings. Apart from this, Gill is the second Indian and fifth player to score a century against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy.
Shami scored a double century of wickets
India’s best bowler Mohammed Shami created history in the Champions Trophy (Champions Trophy 2025). In the match against Bangladesh, Mohammed Shami completed 200 ODI wickets. He completed his 200th ODI wicket by taking the wicket of Bangladesh’s Jaker Ali.
