Land law passed in Uttarakhand assembly, Dhami said- draft of strict land law prepared from public suggestions, will help in identifying land mafia

On the fourth day of the assembly session, several proposals were tabled in the House. During this, CM Dhami tabled the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land System Amendment Bill 2025 in the House regarding the Uttarakhand Land Law. On which the opposition demanded a discussion. The land law was passed after discussion.

Earlier, CM Dhami gave information on the land law. Giving information in the House, CM Dhami said that his government has taken historic decisions. Decisions are being taken in accordance with the public sentiments of the people. Efforts are being made to save the resources of Uttarakhand from land mafia. CM Dhami said that Uttarakhand has hilly areas as well as plains. Whose geographical conditions are different. Along with this, investors are also being kept in mind. Incorporating all these issues, the government has laid the foundation of land reform. CM Dhami said this is a beginning. After this, work will be done further in it.

CM Dhami said that in the last few years, outsiders bought land. Which was not being used. After the implementation of this law, this problem will not arise. This will help in identifying the land mafia. CM Dhami said that the state government is constantly working to remove encroachment. He said that the state government is working keeping in mind the economy and ecology. CM Dhami gave detailed information about the land law in the House.

CM Dhami said that many important provisions have been made in the Land Law Ordinance. The land of the state will be saved through land law. The land reform law will be beneficial for the people of the state. He said that out of 599 cases of violation of land law, 572 cases are in court. CM Dhami said that after the formation of the state, work has been done continuously regarding land management in the state development. The government has made efforts to take this forward. Land purchase has been banned in 11 districts. Now permission will have to be taken for land purchase at the government level. The Chief Minister said that the Land Management Act will help in identifying the difference between land mafia and landholders.

Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that today the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land System Amendment Bill 2025 should be sent to the Select Committee regarding the Uttarakhand Land Law. On which the report should be presented in M ​​month. He said that it is important to know who made the land laws flexible in Uttarakhand. Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that there should be no hurry in such laws. He said that information should also be taken from revenue experts. Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that the purchase and sale of land in Uttarakhand should be banned.

After this, Qazi Nizamuddin said that there is talk of land mafia in the state. Its definition should be fixed. After which action should be taken against them. Along with this, he also explained in detail about the purchase and sale of land from the back door.

Rules of Land Law:

  1. Strict action will also be taken for using land other than the land use fixed in the municipal limits.
  2. Now no approval will be given for purchasing more than 12 and a half acres of land in the state.
  3. Consolidation and settlement on the hills will be completed rapidly.
  4. It will become very difficult for people from other states to buy land in the state. DMs will no longer be able to give permission for land purchase.
  5. A portal will be created for land purchase in the state. The portal will also record the details of every inch of land purchase by people from outside the state.
  6. All DMs will have to regularly submit the report of the purchase of all lands to the Revenue Council and the government.
  7. Strict action will be taken at the government level if people from outside the state misuse it.
  8. The land will be vested in the government if it is used against the rules.
  9. There will be control over the unnatural increase in land prices and the natives of the state will be able to buy land easily.
  10. The government will get more control over land purchase and sale, which will stop irregularities.
  11. There will be better management of land in hilly areas, which will benefit the residents of the state.
