Uttarakhand: The heat of the controversial statement of Minister Prem Chand reached the summer capital Gairsain, protests also took place in Rishikesh-Dehradun

There is a furore in the whole of Uttarakhand over the controversial statement of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Agarwal during the Assembly Budget Session. This issue is hot from the House, social media to the road. There is an atmosphere of resentment over the statement of Minister Premchand Agarwal. Even in the summer capital Gairsain, Congress workers are protesting against Minister Premchand Agarwal.

Congress workers also expressed their anger in the summer capital of the state, Gairsain. Gathering at the main intersection of Gairsain, they raised slogans against Minister Premchand Agarwal and burnt his effigy. During this, senior Congress leader Mohan Ram Tamta said that ‘there is a big difference between BJP’s words and actions. He said that the minister whom BJP is holding in high esteem. He is an anti-mountain leader, he keeps working to insult the mountains and hill people every day. In the coming time, the public will uproot this arrogant government and minister from Uttarakhand’.

During this, Youth Congress Assembly constituency president Pradeep Kunwar said that this government has become so intoxicated with power that it is not able to see anything. He said that if Chief Minister Dhami does not remove Premchand Agarwal from his post, then very soon the Youth Congress will take to the streets and stage a fierce protest.

Protests in Rishikesh too

During the budget session in the Legislative Assembly, a controversial word by Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal has created a ruckus. The hill people of Rishikesh have condemned the controversial word of Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal. People protested against the minister’s statement in the city. Due to this protest, the police had to intervene. There was also a clash between the people and the police outside the minister’s camp office. Let us tell you that people protested against Minister Premchand Agarwal till the camp office. After which there was a clash with the police on the barricading of the people who were adamant to reach the camp office. The police tried hard to pacify the angry people, but the people did not agree. When the police did not allow the people to go to the camp office, people got angry and started protesting by raising slogans. The protesters said that Minister Premchand should apologize in this regard.

Protest in Dehradun too

After the controversial statement of Cabinet Minister Premchand Agarwal, Congress’s anger was seen on the streets. Congress workers raised slogans and protested in Dehradun. Congress Party’s State General Secretary and state agitator Rajendra Shah says that Premchand Agarwal’s statement is insulting to the people of the hills.

He said that on one hand Minister Premchand Agarwal is making such statements in the House, on the other hand, instead of silencing him, the Assembly Speaker is asking the Congress MLAs to keep quiet. An even more saddening aspect is that when Badrinath Assembly MLA Lakhpat Butola wanted to put forth his point, the Assembly Speaker forcibly made him sit down. Rajendra Shah says that in fact the Assembly Speaker has not suffered the pain of the Uttarakhand movement. Therefore, he does not know that the state of Uttarakhand was formed after more than 42 martyrdoms in this movement. He has advised to know the history of the Uttarakhand movement and understand the 42 martyrdoms for the formation of the state. Shah says that this statement of the Cabinet Minister cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
