Uttarakhand: Efforts to improve Doon’s ranking in the cleanliness survey, Municipal Corporation taking feedback, numbers issued for complaints

The Municipal Corporation has started preparations so that the city can get good results in the cleanliness ranking. The Municipal Corporation is constantly trying to get a good rank for the city. This time, it is being claimed that Doon will get the 50th position. For which the people of Doon are also being appealed for cooperation. At the same time, the Government of India has started taking feedback from the people about the cleanliness system in the bodies under the Swachhta Survey. According to the corporation, the more the people of the city give their opinion, the more help the corporation will get in getting a better rank. The Swachh Survey team from the Center may come to Dehradun in March. After taking stock of the arrangements here, the report will be prepared.
Under the Swachh Survey, evaluation is done on different points in different phases out of a total of 12 thousand 500 marks. An action plan has been prepared by the Municipal Corporation to improve the ranking of Dehradun among the cities with a population of more than 10 lakh. Instructions have been given to the contracted companies to pick up garbage from every house by running garbage vehicles regularly and emphasis is also being laid on garbage segregation.
In the first phase, a segregation campaign was started in 10 wards. Which will now be implemented in all 100 wards. Actually, last year, Doon’s performance in the field of segregation was not up to expectations. This time the corporation teams are going door-to-door and running a campaign to separate wet and dry garbage.
A cleanliness war room has been set up in the Municipal Corporation premises. The cleanliness of the city will be directly monitored. All the wards coming under the Dehradun Municipal Corporation area will be divided into sub-zones. Till now Dehradun was divided into five zones. In such a situation, every area was big. Due to which monitoring was a difficult task. But now the entire city will be divided into zones as well as sub-zones.
For this, a kind of system is being prepared, in which the top officer, nodal officer, chief sanitation inspector and sanitation inspector will inspect all the wards. Also, the teams deployed in all the zones will monitor the cleaning program. Apart from this, a toll free number has also been issued for the people. In whichever area dirt is seen, you can complain about it on the number 18001804571. Also, online feedback has started.
Now the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Government has started taking feedback from the city residents. People can go to the government portal and fill the form and answer the questions asked. QR code is also being scanned for convenience. Also, Mayor Saurabh Thapriyal and Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal have appealed to the people to give their feedback regarding the cleanliness system of the city. The officials and employees of the Municipal Corporation have also been given the responsibility of taking feedback.
Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal said that the participation of Doon residents is necessary to get a good rank in the cleanliness survey. Wet and dry garbage should be separated and then given to the door to door vehicles. Garbage should not be thrown on the roadside. There is a responsibility to keep the rivers clean. Single use plastic should not be used. Establishments have to be kept clean. Only then can the Municipal Corporation get a better rank. Along with this, an appeal is made to everyone to give as many feedback as possible.
