Uttarakhand: GPS and cameras will be installed in all roadways buses, tracking can be done from a single control room

Now the Transport Corporation management will monitor the buses of Uttarakhand Roadways with GPS and online cameras. Preparations for this have started. Soon GPS devices and online cameras will be installed in all the buses. The Transport Corporation management is preparing to implement new changes in view of the operation, mileage and complaints of passengers of Roadways buses.
MD of the Corporation Reena Joshi has instructed the officials to take action for this. First of all, those companies will be called who can provide the facility of GPS and online CCTV in the buses. One advantage of installing GPS will also be that the Roadways buses will not run on routes other than the prescribed ones.
GPS can be tracked from a single control room
This will also improve their mileage. In a conversation with Amar Ujala, Reena Joshi said that GPS can be tracked from a single control room. She said that similarly, CCTV cameras can also be viewed from the control room. This will reduce the number of complaints from passengers in the bus. Drivers and conductors will also be able to perform their duties with more discipline.
Camera have been installed in some buses right now but there is no arrangement to see their live footage. During investigation of any case of misbehavior with passengers or driver-conductor in a bus, the footage is taken from the hard disk kept in that bus. But after the arrangement of live footage, monitoring will be easy and real time. MD Reena Joshi told that work is going on on this project right now. First RFPs will be taken from the companies. Only after this, further steps will be taken.
