Trump, if you have courage then come to Kabul… Taliban army’s open challenge to US President, said- will not return weapons

The Taliban-led interim government of Afghanistan has made it clear that it will not return America’s weapons. The Taliban has threatened Donald Trump by saying that if he has the courage, he should come and take the weapons. This reaction of the Taliban has come on Donald Trump’s comment, in which he has talked about bringing back the weapons left by the US Army in Afghanistan. In the year 2021, the US Army left Afghanistan after the Taliban moved towards Kabul. During this, a large number of American weapons were left on the ground of Afghanistan. Trump has talked about the return of these weapons after taking power in America again in January this year, on which the Taliban is furious.
According to Afghanistan media, Army Chief Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, while replying to Trump, said, ‘If you have the courage, come to Afghanistan and come and take back your weapons.’ Before Fasihuddin, Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has also given a similar challenge to Donald Trump. Mujahid had said that these weapons now belong to Afghanistan. We have won these in the war, so these are our property. It is clear from this that the Taliban has no intention of returning the weapons to America.
America’s weapons worth billions in Afghanistan
According to a report by the US Department of Defense, military equipment worth about $ 7 billion was left in Afghanistan at the time of withdrawal of US forces. The US had given equipment worth $ 18.6 billion to the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces from 2005 to August 2021. The US army left Afghanistan in August 2021. During this time, some helicopters were landed by US-backed Afghan forces in neighboring countries, but a large number of weapons were also left in Afghanistan.
The dispute between the US President and the Taliban over weapons is taking place before the fifth anniversary of the Doha Agreement between the US and Afghanistan. This agreement was reached on February 29, 2020. Under this agreement, the US army withdrew from Afghanistan. Now the issue of American military equipment left in Afghanistan is getting heated on both sides.
Controversy over Bagram Airbase too
Donald Trump has also given a statement on Bagram, the largest air base of the US Army in Afghanistan. Trump says that Bagram Air Base is occupied by China and he will regain control over it. This air base is strategically very important. In such a situation, this can also become an issue of tension between the Taliban and America.
