Uttarakhand: Chief Minister took cognizance of Chamoli accident, gave instructions to speed up rescue operation

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken cognizance of the accident in Mana village of Chamoli. CM Dhami has directed the Disaster Management Department to expedite the rescue operation. CM Dhami posted on social media and informed that relief and rescue work is going on by ITBP, BRO and other rescue teams.

Sad news was received of many laborers being buried due to avalanche during the construction work conducted by BRO near Mana village in Chamoli district. Relief and rescue work is being conducted by ITBP, BRO and other rescue teams. I pray to Lord Badri Vishal for the safety of all the labor brothers.

Accident caused by glacier breaking 

Let us tell you that on Friday, 57 laborers were buried due to glacier breaking near Mana village in Badrinath Dham. Out of which 16 laborers have been rescued safely. While the rescue operation is going on in search of other workers. According to sources, all these workers were working under the contractor of BRO. All the workers were engaged in construction work near Mana village.

ITBP engaged in rescue

Regarding the accident, Additional Executive Officer of Disaster Department RK Negi says that efforts are continuously being made to evacuate all the workers safely and open the route. ITBP soldiers have reached the spot and are handling the situation. At present, there is no news of any worker being injured.
