With the beginning of the forest fire season in Uttarakhand, a big decision has been taken to promote the collection of Pirul. The state government has issued an order to increase the price of Pirul by more than 3 times. On the other hand, the district administration and other departments have also been given responsibility regarding forest fires.

Pirul price increased to Rs 10 per kg

Pirul prices have been increased in Uttarakhand. Till now the price of Pirul in the state was ₹ 3 per kg. Which has now been increased to ₹ 10 per kg. For this, the government has also issued orders. Actually, about 15.25% of the forest area in Uttarakhand is pine forest area. In such a situation, emphasis is being laid on the collection of Pirul to prevent incidents of fire in pine forests. This is the reason why the state government has decided to increase its prices.

Opportunity to increase the livelihood of local people

Not only is the production of biofuel products being promoted from pine pine pine, but local people have also been given an opportunity to increase their livelihood. At the same time, this step is also considered very important to protect forests from fire. With the increase in the price of pine pine, the inclination of common people towards collecting pine pine will increase and their livelihood will also increase, while it will also help in preventing incidents of forest fire.

Other departments along with the Forest Department will be responsible

The Forest Department in the state will not be solely responsible for forest fires. Teams have been formed at the District Magistrate level to prevent incidents of forest fires and these teams will also be active to prevent incidents of forest fires in the forests and they will also be responsible.

The District Magistrates of two districts have formed teams for this, while apart from the district administration, many other departments will also be directly trying to prevent incidents of forest fire. – Nishant Verma, APCCF
