Uttarakhand: The number of dead in Chamoli Mana Avalanche increased, the figure reached 7, 53 workers rescued so far, search for 1 continues

The death toll in the Mana avalanche accident has reached 7. While the search for a laborer continues on the third day of the avalanche. In this entire accident, it was first reported that 55 BRO laborers were buried under snow. But on the second day of the accident, late night, it was reported that one laborer had already gone to his home in Kangra. In this sense, the number of laborers caught in the avalanche was 54.

54 laborers were buried under snow due to avalanche in Mana, Chamoli on the morning of 28 February. By the time the information of the avalanche reached the government and administration, it was 10 in the morning. It was learned that these laborers were inside 8 containers and 1 shed. Which were missing. After this, the ITBP and the administration started the search and rescue operation.

On the day of the incident itself, the ITBP located 2 containers and rescued 33 people. While the other three rescue operations were supported by the ITBP as well as the Indian Army and the Air Force. During this time, the soldiers conducting the rescue operation found 3 more containers, due to which the number of rescued workers reached 50 by evening. However, meanwhile it was learned that 4 seriously injured workers died. While a seriously injured worker was airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh.

On the third day of the rescue operation, a rescue operation was started to search for 4 workers. Meanwhile, at 10:30 am, the rescue team recovered another body. At the same time, by afternoon, information was received that two more bodies have been recovered by the rescue team. Now the search for only one worker is going on.

On behalf of the Army PRO, Lieutenant Colonel Manish Srivastava said at 2 pm that,

The army has recovered two more bodies in the snow during the ongoing search operation. 53 out of 54 workers have been rescued so far. One person is still missing. Search and rescue operations are going on.
