Be polite or else… When Samay Raina made a mockery of the hearing, the Supreme Court took out his arrogance

Behave properly or else we know how to deal with people like you… The Supreme Court taught a lesson to abusive YouTubers in this manner. The Supreme Court on Monday reprimanded comedian Samay Raina. The Supreme Court was told that Raina had also made fun of its proceedings. He had talked about the controversy over his show ‘India’s Got Latent’ in Canada. The court said that today’s young generation considers itself very smart. The Supreme Court was hearing the petition of podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia.

These warnings of the Supreme Court will take away your sleep

Allahbadia had created a ruckus by making indecent comments on Raina’s show last month. In Monday’s hearing, Justice Suryakant said, ‘These young and oversmart people think that they know more than us… one of them went to Canada and spoke a lot about this there.’ On this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said, ‘Yes, he (referring to Raina) went abroad and made fun of this proceedings.’ Justice Suryakant further said, ‘Perhaps they do not know how much power this court has.’ He warned the YouTubers, ‘Behave politely, otherwise we know how to deal with you.’

He also took a dig at the proceedings of the Supreme Court!

Raina was on the ‘Samay Raina Unfiltered’ tour in Canada last month. He commented on this controversy in a humorous manner. In his first comment on stage, he joked with the audience, ‘Thank you for paying my lawyer’s fees.’ Ranveer Allahbadia, known as ‘The BeerBiceps Guy’, made obscene comments on the physical relationship of parents on Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’ last month, which created a big controversy. These comments caused huge outrage and sparked a debate in Parliament. Many complaints were filed against this social media personality.

Cases were also registered against these YouTubers

Along with Raina, cases were also registered against people like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija. All of them were part of the show. Hours after the episode was removed from YouTube, Raina issued a statement saying that he has removed all the videos of the show from his channel and is ‘fully cooperating’ with the authorities. Allahbadia also apologized in a video, saying that his comments were ‘not only inappropriate, but also not funny.’ However, the Supreme Court had stopped the 31-year-old YouTuber from shooting any further shows.

Ranveer gets relief

The Supreme Court, in Monday’s hearing, allowed Allahbadia to resume his podcast ‘The Ranveer Show’. The court said that there is a need to ‘strike a balance between morality and freedom of expression’. After this big controversy, the Supreme Court also asked the Center to keep this in mind before preparing guidelines for digital content.

The arrogance must be loosened

In fact, a lot is being said in the name of freedom of expression these days. People who keep an eye on the rights given in the Constitution never pay attention to the fundamental duties mentioned in the same Constitution. The question is whether a disgusting attempt to hurt social values can be defended under the guise of freedom of expression? It is clear from the comments of the Supreme Court that this is not appropriate. Therefore, it is necessary to loosen the arrogance of those who talk only about rights while ignoring their duties.
