Uttarakhand: Basantotsav will start from March 7 in Raj Bhavan, you will get to see the world of flowers, a glimpse of culture will also be seen
Basant Utsav is organized every year in Uttarakhand Raj Bhavan. This time also Raj Bhavan is ready for Basantotsav 2025. People who love flowers and plants eagerly wait for this day. There are going to be many centers of attraction in Basantotsav this time too.
In fact, today the ‘Curtain Raiser’ of Basantotsav 2025 was organized in Raj Bhavan. Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh gave detailed information about the 3-day Basantotsav 2025 starting from March 7 at Raj Bhavan. He informed that ‘Jatamansi’ has been selected for the special postal cover this year. Whereas, the world of flowers will be seen in Raj Bhavan.
Governor Gurmeet Singh said that Uttarakhand can prove to be a boon for the species of flowers. Basantotsav provides a big platform to handicrafts and cottage industries. At the same time, there will be free entry for the general public in this Basantotsav from 1 pm to 6 pm. Whereas, on the last day i.e. on March 9, the flower exhibition will be open for the general public free of cost from 9 am to 6 pm.

- Cut flower competition, 72 prizes
- Potted plants management competition, 12 prizes
- Loose flower management competition, 12 prizes
- Potted plants other than flowers, 6 prizes
- Vegetables, 9 prizes
- Cactus and succulents, 3 prizes
- Bonsai, 6 prizes
- Terrarium, 3 prizes
- Hanging pots, 3 prizes
- Hydroponic technology demonstration (first time), 3 prizes
- Pots used in gardening, 3 prizes
- Honey, 9 prizes
- On the spot photography, 3 prizes
- Rangoli of fresh flower groups, 3 prizes
- Painting competition for school children (age group 5 to 18 years), Divyang and other children, 18 prizes will be given.
The special thing is that a glimpse of the culture of Uttarakhand will be seen in Basantotsav. You will be able to taste many types of dishes. Apart from this, you will also be able to buy clothes, flowers, plants. This Basantotsav is going to run for 3 days from March 7 to March 9.
