Uttarakhand: Order for magistrate investigation of Chamoli Mana avalanche accident, Joshimath SDM appointed as investigating officer

On 28 February, an avalanche incident took place in Mana in Chamoli district. 54 workers were buried in the avalanche, out of which 46 people were rescued by the Indian Army and ITBP, 8 people died in the incident. Now on the instructions of the state government, District Magistrate Chamoli Sandeep Tiwari has ordered a magisterial inquiry into this entire matter. Joshimath Sub-District Magistrate has been appointed as the investigating officer.
It is worth noting that Chamoli DM Sandeep Tiwari has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the avalanche accident that occurred in Chamoli Mana on 28 February. The District Magistrate has appointed Joshimath SDM as the investigating officer. One laborer is still missing in the Chamoli accident. While 46 laborers were rescued safely. Eight people died in this accident. Some laborers are still being treated in Chamoli and some patients in Rishikesh AIIMS.
In the letter issued by District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, it has been said that in this entire incident, there has been loss of both life and property, so a magistrate investigation is very important. Therefore, the investigation has been handed over to the Deputy District Magistrate of Joshimath. The Deputy District Magistrate will talk to not only the workers, but also the officers and employees of BRO. Along with this, after inspecting the spot, they will get to the bottom of this entire incident in 15 days.
The investigation will also make it clear whether the arrangements for the stay, food and sleep of the workers were made properly or not? Is there any human error in the incident? Because the Meteorological Department had already issued a warning of avalanche in many districts of Uttarakhand.
