Efforts to provide jobs to National Games medal winners players are being intensified, Dhami government will also give double the incentive amount…

In the 38th National Games, the hard work of the players of Uttarakhand paid off. The players of the state won 103 medals in different sports, after which Uttarakhand came seventh in the medal list. Now the Uttarakhand government is going to fulfill its promise to the players. While on one hand the government will give double the incentive amount to the medal winners, on the other hand preparations are also being made to give government jobs to the players, for which 243 additional posts will be created.

Standards of Uttarakhand Government

According to the standards set by the Uttarakhand government, the player who wins the gold medal in the Olympics was promised an incentive of Rs 2 crore, the silver medal winner is given Rs 1.5 crore and the bronze medal winner is given Rs 50 lakh. At the same time, the gold medal winner in the World Cup or World Championship is given Rs 30 lakh, the silver medal winner is given Rs 20 lakh and the bronze medal winner is given Rs 15 lakh. An incentive amount of Rs 7.5 lakh is given only for talent.

Similarly, there is a provision of giving incentive amount of 30 lakhs for winning gold medal in Asian Games, 20 lakhs for winning silver, 15 lakhs for winning bronze and 7.5 lakhs for doing Pratibha. There is a provision of giving 12 lakhs for gold, 8 lakhs for silver and 6 lakhs for bronze in Asian Championship.

There is a rule of giving 6 lakhs for gold, 4 lakhs for silver and 3 lakhs for bronze in Commonwealth Championship. On the other hand, if we talk about National Games, there is a provision of giving six lakhs for gold medal, four lakhs for silver medal and 3 lakhs for bronze, but according to the government order made by the Uttarakhand government on 13 December 2024, in this year’s National Games, the player winning gold medal will be given 12 lakhs instead of 6 lakhs, the player winning silver medal will be given 8 lakhs instead of 4 lakhs and the player winning bronze medal will be given 6 lakhs instead of 3 lakhs.

Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the government is going to fulfill its promise and the players who win medals in the National Games will soon be given incentives. Along with this, the departmental expenditure on the players and their coaches is about 16 crores. This proposal has been sent to the Finance and soon the players will get their incentive amount.

Proposal for 243 new posts ready to give jobs to the players

Apart from this, Sports Minister Rekha Arya said that the Sports Department is also committed to giving jobs to the players regarding out of turn jobs. The government has already issued a government order regarding this. Many players are already working. 243 additional posts are needed to give jobs to the players who win medals in the National Games. The department has started preparations to create these 243 posts and a proposal has been prepared. This proposal will soon be placed in the cabinet. The government is making every effort to ensure that the needy players get jobs as soon as possible.
