Ban on tobacco and alcohol advertisements in IPL 2025!
In fact, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) wrote a letter to IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal. In which he has urged that any type of tobacco and alcohol ads, especially surrogate advertisements, should be banned in stadiums and television broadcasts during the IPL. Along with this, he has also demanded a ban on the sale of these things in all related events and sports facilities.
Effect on health
- Cases of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, lung disease and high blood pressure are increasing rapidly in India. These diseases cause more than 70% of deaths every year. Tobacco and alcohol are among the major causes of these diseases.
