Uttarakhand: Seminar organized to find solutions to climate change, Dhami said- Such programs prove effective in stopping the rapid climate change in the state

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the seminar organized on the topic ‘Climate Change and Renewable Energy – Challenges and Solutions’ at Wadia Institute. Addressing the seminar, the CM said that at present climate change stands as a serious challenge for the whole world. Recalling the experience of last year’s summer, he said that due to climate change, the temperature in various mountainous areas including Dehradun was much higher than before. At such a time, it is a commendable effort to spread awareness about climate change and discuss its solutions in depth. This seminar is not only an opportunity to understand the challenges of climate change, but also a unique platform to strengthen our resolve towards the environment.

The Chief Minister said that under the “Hariyali Mission”, lakhs of saplings are being planted in the state. Through the “Jal Shakti Abhiyan”, efforts are also being made to revive ponds and traditional water sources in 1000 villages. With the objective of promoting water conservation in the state, Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority has also been formed, under which 5500 water sources and 292 tributary rivers have been identified and treated. With the help of Wadia Institute, we have also established Glacier Study Centre, so that we can understand the signals given by nature and work by making effective policies to prevent its erosion.

The Chief Minister said that the 38th National Games held in the state were organized on the theme of Green Games. During the entire event, 2.77 hectares of forest area was established as ‘Khel Van’ by planting one Rudraksha plant in the name of all the players who won medals. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country, where an attempt is being made to assess the environmental contributions of water, forest, land and mountains by preparing an index of GEP i.e. Gross Environment Product on the lines of GDP. Green energy is being encouraged on a large scale in place of fossil based fuel. With the implementation of the “New Solar Energy Policy”, work is being done towards achieving 1400 MW solar capacity by the year 2027. A large number of people are installing solar panels in the state by taking advantage of the subsidy under the “PM Suryaghar Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Solar Swarojgar Yojana”.

Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal said that to preserve forest wealth, it is necessary to connect local people with forests. This will preserve our forests and also provide livelihood to the people. A detailed plan has been made to reduce forest fires.

On this occasion, folk singer Narendra Singh Negi, Youth Foundation founder Colonel Ajay Kothiyal (Retd), Chief Forest Conservator Dr. Dhananjay Mohan, Director Wadia Dr. Vineet Kumar Gehlot, scientist Dr. JB Singh, Dr. Hridaya Chauhan, scientists and listeners from various institutions were present.

Uttarakhand / Dehradun: A heart wrenching incident has come to light from Vikasnagar in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Where a young man killed his own mother and fled from the spot. Actually this incident is of 3rd August. Where Herbertpur police got information about a fire in a house in Rambagh area. When the police reached the spot, they found the burnt body of an old woman inside. The owner of the house, Sanjay Singh Rana, identified the body as his wife Suresho Devi alias Vandana Rana. Earlier it seemed that the woman died due to burning in the fire but the investigation revealed the case of murder. In such a situation, today the police has arrested him. Murdered mother when he did not get money for drugs The next day of the incident, the husband of the deceased, Sanjay Singh, while giving a complaint to the police, told that his son Manmohan Singh used to live with his mother. He was addicted to drugs and often used to demand money from his mother. There used to be a lot of quarrel between the two when the mother refused. The father told that Manmohan was missing from home since the incident. After which, he expressed doubt that maybe his son had committed the murder and set the room on fire. The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
