Cancer was not the reason for GST Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Singh’s suicide, shocking report revealed

TV9 Bharatvarsh has got exclusive information in the suicide case of Sanjay Singh, Deputy Commissioner of GST Department in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. This is the report of Sanjay’s cancer treatment which completely refutes the claims that he was in depression due to this serious disease. Sanjay’s cousin Dhananjay Singh has shown this medical report, which is of November 2024. According to this, Sanjay was completely cured. Dhananjay claimed that this medical report clearly states that Sanjay was not in depression due to cancer. Rather, he was upset with the harassment he was getting from the department.

Sanjay Singh committed suicide by jumping from the 15th floor of Apex Society located in Sector-75, Noida on Monday morning. Since then this case has been in the headlines. Many things are coming to the fore regarding his death. Meanwhile, the team of TV9 Bharatvarsh spoke to Sanjay’s family. The family gave many important information about Sanjay. It also made it clear that he was fed up with the harassment of the department.

Dhananjay Singh said- Sanjay was retiring after a year. Sanjay was definitely depressed for a year. But he was in depression due to the additional workload being assigned to him at a high level in the department. We believe that the level of harassment in the department has been increased so much that no one is able to work in this department with independent discretion. There is so much interference in the work every day that the employees here cannot work independently. Not only Sanjay, other employees of the department are also facing harassment.

He said- The talk of depression due to cancer is absolutely wrong. We have his medical report, which is of 14 November 2024. He had come out of this disease. It is also clear in the report that he had recovered. So how can Sanjay go into depression due to cancer? By saying such things, it is just an attempt to save those officers of the department, due to whom Sanjay was upset. My brother was not such a person who would give up his life for such a small thing. He was of a very calm nature. He was harassed in the department to such an extent that he committed suicide. We want this case to be investigated at a high level. Only then will the truth come out.

‘Sanjay had cancer in 2018’

Further Dhananjay Singh said- Sanjay used to talk to me regularly. Sanjay used to tell us that he was upset. He used to tell his wife Aparna also that he was very upset. We used to explain to him that there is no need to worry. Be it good times or bad times, one day it will pass. Right now you are definitely going through a bad phase, but soon good times will also come.

Sanjay’s medical report

‘We believe that he was definitely worried about his health earlier. But later he got well. Even before this, wherever he worked, he used to face minor problems. But not at such a high level. Sanjay had cancer in 2018, but even after that he used to get checkups done on a regular basis. In the report of two months ago, he was found to be completely healthy. So it is absolutely wrong that he was in depression due to cancer.’

Sanjay never mentioned which officer used to harass him. But even in the conversation with us on the last day, he had told that I do not want additional charge. Just remove him. But the officers did not remove him. We have not lodged any FIR yet. But after taking legal advice, we will see what we have to do in this matter.

‘The whole department is troubled by one person’

Sanjay’s old colleague and retired Additional Commissioner of GST SK Gautam said- I knew Sanjay for a long time. He was a very cheerful and hardworking person. Many officers are also saddened by his death. What I want to say is that as far as I know, there is discontent in the entire department due to the working style of the Principal Secretary in the department. The result of this was that Sanjay’s house suffered damage, which no one can compensate. Everyone was upset, but Sanjay got fed up and took his own life.

‘I request Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to get this matter investigated confidentially. I claim that all the employees here are sad because of just one person. A loss has been done, but we do not want that something like this happens to anyone else in the future. Therefore, an investigation committee must be set up for this.’

Sanjay has always been counted among the good officers. If we also needed some advice, we used to consult Sanjay only. Whereas, if any work was assigned to him, he always completed it. We were very shocked when we came to know that Sanjay has committed suicide. We just want an impartial investigation in this case.
