Holika Dahan festival was celebrated with great pomp in Uttarakhand, abir-gulal was thrown in abundance

Along with the whole country, Holi is being celebrated in Uttarakhand as well. Holika Dahan was organized at various places in Kumaon division on Thursday with worship and rituals in Haldwani. Holika Dahan was done after worship as per traditional customs.
In Haldwani, women worshipped Holika Mata in traditional attire since Thursday morning. Holika was burnt late at night. During Holika Dahan, people greeted each other on Holi by chanting Bhakt Prahlad Ki Jai, Holika Mata Ki Jai and Narasimha Bhagwan Ki Jai. It is believed that Holika Dahan before Holi is a symbol of victory of good over evil.
Holika Dahan program was organized at many places in Haldwani. During this, people lit ears of grain in the burning Holika and took prasad and wished for peace and happiness of their family. After Holika Dahan, people wished each other on Holi. People performed the puja as per rituals and also wished Holi by applying color on each other. At many places, people were seen dancing to Holi songs.
Holika Dahan was also performed in Ramnagar
This time Holika Dahan was celebrated in a grand and traditional manner in Ramnagar of Nainital district. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the people about the festival in the entire district. People celebrated the victory of good over evil with devotion. The ritual of Holika Dahan was completed with full rituals in various areas.
On this occasion, we brought alive the tradition of Holi through folk songs and dance. Holi is not just a festival of colors, but gives the message of brotherhood and harmony. Cultural programs were also organized at many places. People celebrated the festival through folk songs, traditional dance and colorful presentations.
Holika Dahan program in Laksar
Holika Dahan was completed by performing the ritual of Havan Yagna at the Laksar Main Bazaar. In which all the senior citizens of the city participated. The city residents gave Purnahuti to Holika. Everyone circled Holi and wished for their happiness and prosperity. People greeted each other with gulal and wished Holi. Everyone expressed their happiness by bursting firecrackers on this occasion. Women, elderly and children participated in the pujan program.
