Uttarakhand: Smart meter installed at CM Dhami’s Khatima residence, preparations underway to install it at homes of 15.87 lakh consumers

The work of installing smart meters across the state by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) under the ambitious scheme RDSS of the Government of India is going on at a rapid pace. Under this scheme, smart meters are being installed at the homes of 15.87 lakh electricity consumers of Uttarakhand. Along with this, smart meters are also being installed on transformers and feeders.

Smart meter installed at CM Dhami’s Khatima residence

On Saturday, the UPCL team installed a smart meter at Tarai Nagla, Khatima campus, the private residence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took detailed information about the functioning and features of the smart meter. UPCL Superintending Engineer Shekhar Tripathi told the Chief Minister that this smart meter will allow consumers to view real-time data online on mobile.

CM instructed the officials to do extensive publicity among the public

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the technology of smart meter. Also told that the installation of smart meter will be beneficial for all electricity consumers. The CM said that this initiative will also inspire the electricity consumers of the state to install state-of-the-art smart meters in their homes. The CM also directed the departmental officers to spread awareness among the general public to explain the features of smart meters.
