10 women from Thailand caught in several flats in Lucknow, case registered
10 foreign women were found living illegally in residential flats in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Police have registered a case after they were found living illegally in residential flats in Chinhat area. Police sources said on Friday that on Wednesday night, police raided Shakti Heights Apartment in Malhaur area of Chinhat. After this, it was found that foreign women were being kept in the apartment without giving proper information to the authorities. After this incident, the police contacted the owner of the apartment. He too could not present any details before the police. At present, the police have registered a case in this matter. Police say that investigation is going on.
These women were living in six apartments
Police said that investigation has revealed that all the foreign women are from Thailand. All these women were living in six different apartments. According to police officials, these foreign women could not give a satisfactory explanation about living here. During this time, only one woman provided a copy of the document of living on rent to the police.
Apartment owner also questioned
According to a statement issued by the police in the case of foreign women found, apartment owner Shakti Singh was contacted. He was instructed to provide documents and information about the foreign residents. However, he failed to submit the rental agreement, complete Form C (required under Foreigner Registration Rule 14) or give details about the purpose of the women’s stay. Police have registered an FIR against Shakti Singh and some unknown persons in connection with the case. Police say the matter is being investigated.
