Pakistan army again changed its statement, now told how many of its soldiers were killed in the train attack

The Pakistan Army on Friday released a new figure regarding the soldiers killed in the train hijack in Balochistan. The Pakistani Army has said that out of the 26 hostages killed by BLA militants in the Balochistan train attack, 18 were army and paramilitary personnel. ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary said during a press conference with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti that the militants had killed 26 hostages before the start of the army operation. Let us tell you that earlier the Pakistani Army had said that 25 people including 4 soldiers were killed.
‘3 other government officials also included’
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary said, ‘The 26 hostages included 18 army and paramilitary personnel, 3 other government officials and 5 civilians.’ Chaudhary also said that 5 Frontier Corps personnel were killed during the operation, including those 4 Frontier Corps personnel who were killed by the militants during the attack on the train. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants ambushed the Jaffar Express carrying more than 400 passengers in Balochistan’s Bolan area on Tuesday and took the passengers hostage.
‘Total 354 hostages rescued’
After the train was taken hostage, security forces launched an operation that continued till the evening of the next day. Security forces entered the hijacked train on Wednesday, dramatically ending the situation that lasted for 30 hours, killing all 33 militants while successfully rescuing more than 300 passengers. An army spokesman said that a total of 354 hostages were rescued, including 37 injured passengers. The army spokesman said that Pakistan’s security forces are carrying out an average of 180 intelligence operations daily to eliminate the threat of terrorism.
