America bowed to Russia’s condition and changed its special envoy

Donald Trump is busy finalizing the Ukraine ceasefire talks. Earlier it seemed that the US would move forward for this agreement keeping in mind the interests of Ukraine, but Trump’s last few steps seem to show that he has completely bowed down to Putin. On Russia’s demand, Trump has changed his advisor to talk to Russia. Trump removed General Keith Kellogg as the negotiator for Russia, now he will only negotiate with Ukraine.
Trump said on his Truth social platform that Kellogg will directly talk to President Zelensky and the Ukrainian leadership and further said that he knows them well, and they have a very good working relationship. The Kremlin had objections to General Keith Kellogg and the Russian leadership did not want to talk to him directly. Earlier, Trump had appointed Kellogg as a special envoy to talk to Russia and Ukraine.
Kept away from Jeddah talks
Keith Kellogg was appointed as a special envoy to resolve the Ukraine war, but he stayed away from the meeting between US and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia. NBC News quoted a senior Russian official as saying that President Vladimir Putin felt that Kellogg was too pro-Ukraine.
US-Ukraine’s deteriorating relations
This move by the US has once again revealed that there has been a distance in its relationship with Ukraine. Relations between Trump and Zelensky worsened last month when the US President called the Ukrainian leader a ‘dictator’ and questioned whether he really wanted peace.
80-year-old Kellogg, in a post on social media after meeting Zelensky in Kiev, described him as the ‘combative and courageous leader’ of Ukraine and said that the two had a ‘comprehensive and positive discussion’.
