Tulsi Gabbard, the US National Intelligence Director who arrived in New Delhi, said that direct talks are going on between India and the US at the top level on the issue of tariff. Gabbard said that in the last few days I have spoken to the officials of the Government of India. I am happy to see that the Indian officials are taking it positively rather than looking at it from a negative perspective.
Searching for a good solution
Gabbard further said that just as PM Modi is looking at the best interests of his country’s economy and the opportunities available to the people. In the same way, President Trump is also engaged in doing the same for the American people and economic interests. PM Modi and Donald Trump are looking for the best solution.
Direct dialogue going on at the top level
Tulsi Gabbard said that the most positive thing is that we have two such leaders who have a common understanding of the issues and are looking for a good solution. Direct dialogue is going on at the top level between the two countries. But it will be important to decide between various secretaries and cabinet members what will be the way forward? I am personally excited because there is a deep interest in the private sector in India and America.
Big opportunity to strengthen partnership
Tulsi Gabbard said that there is a deep friendship between PM Modi and Donald Trump. This friendship is the foundation of increasing mutual partnership between the two countries. She further said that the direction of relations with our new administration was decided during PM Modi’s visit to the White House. As you know, they are already good friends. It was a great opportunity to strengthen the partnership between India and America.
Partnership will be strengthened on these areas
Gabbard said that the basis of our meetings with various Indian government and intelligence officials here has been how can we continue to strengthen our relations? Not only intelligence but we are also considering the field of commerce, trade, defense and education. I am seeing only opportunities in the US-India partnership. During the conversation, Tulsi spoke openly on many issues including Mahabharata.
