20 Naxalites have been killed in an encounter between police and Naxalites in Bijapur district. Of these, the bodies of 18 Naxalites and a large amount of goods and weapons have also been recovered by the soldiers from the area. Also, a soldier has also been martyred in Bijapur.
Encounter in Bijapur
The police officer said that the encounter started in the forest located on the border of Bijapur and Dantewada districts when a joint team of security personnel went on an anti-Naxal operation in Gangalore area (Bijapur).
The officer said that there has been intermittent firing from both sides. According to the police, the encounter is still going on and the search operation has been intensified in the area. It is being told that 18 Naxalites have been killed in this encounter, a jawan of Bijapur District Reserve Guard (DRG) lost his life.
Government is adopting zero tolerance policy against Naxalites-Amit Shah
After the operation of security forces, Amit Shah also posted on Instagram, he said, Modi government is moving forward with a ruthless approach against Naxalites and is adopting zero tolerance policy against those Naxalites who are not surrendering despite all the facilities from surrender to inclusion.
Weapons and ammunition recovered
The police search operation is still going on, 18 Naxalites along with weapons and ammunition have been recovered.
Action against Naxalites
Earlier, there was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites on the Maharashtra border adjoining Bijapur and Narayanpur. 31 Naxalites were killed in this. According to the information, the number of Naxalites killed may increase. Also, automatic weapons have also been recovered from the encounter site.
Two soldiers were also injured
Security forces are continuously taking action against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. An encounter is going on since morning on the border of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh in the Farsegarh police station National Park area of Bijapur. Two soldiers have also been injured in this encounter.
