Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that glorifying invaders who attacked India’s heritage and insulted its people is tantamount to treason, which the ‘New India’ will never accept.

Addressing a public meeting in Bahraich, CM Yogi said, “Glorifying invaders means strengthening the roots of treason. New India will never accept those who insult our great ancestors and praise those who attacked our civilization, insulted our women and attacked our faith.”
He said, “When the whole world is acknowledging India’s rich heritage, it is the duty of every citizen to maintain respect for our great leaders and not praise those who tried to erase our identity.”

CM Yogi’s statement came while speaking on the recently concluded Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which he called the “largest human gathering ever”. He also referred to PM Narendra Modi’s recent speech in Parliament, in which the Prime Minister praised Uttar Pradesh for the event, for which “more than 66 crore devotees” gathered at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mystical Saraswati.
Yogi said, “Nowhere in the world has such a big event taken place and no country can organize an event on this scale. Maha Kumbh is a testimony to India’s Sanatan culture, which will inspire generations to come.”
