Uttarakhand: How will the income of farmers increase? CM Dhami gave these important guidelines to the Agriculture Department

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has emphasized on promoting traditional farming and adopting new agricultural techniques to increase the income of farmers in the state. CM Dhami has given instructions in the review meeting of the Game Changer Schemes of the Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Cooperation in the Secretariat today that how farmers should be encouraged to grow suitable crops of their area. So that farmers can get direct benefits of government schemes.
Focus should be on innovation to increase the economy: CM
During the review of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, the Chief Minister directed that special attention should be paid to innovation to increase the economy in the field of agriculture and horticulture. Cluster based farming should be promoted. Millet should be further promoted in the state. Along with this, the construction of polyhouse should be expedited. CM said that work should be done towards increasing the production of traditional products and fruits of Uttarakhand along with Aroma, Apple Mission, Kiwi Mission. Farmers should be encouraged to increase the production of pear, plum, Malta, orange, peach. CN said that crops which are not damaged by animals should be promoted.
CM gave instructions to connect all Gram Sabhas with PACS
During the review of the cooperative department, the CM directed that proper training should be arranged for the people in the field of cooperation. The value chain system should be strengthened to make the farmers empowered and self-reliant. Along with increasing the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) in the state, efforts should be made to increase the income of the farmers. The CM said that all the Gram Sabhas of the state should be linked to PACS in the next 5 years. Along with increasing the business activities in the cooperative societies, strong arrangements should be made for marketing.
Arrangements for e-Rupi are being made for the farmers
In the meeting, it was informed that arrangements for e-Rupi are being made for the convenience of the farmers. This facility will be started in the first week of April. This will provide quick, secure and transparent payment to the farmers, which will bring digital transformation in the agriculture sector. Aromatic crops Damask Rose, Timaru, Cinnamon, Lemongrass and Mint are being promoted rapidly in the state.
