Uttarakhand: There will be no shortage of water in summer, drinking water secretary gave instructions to set up control room in every district

To avoid water shortage in summer, drinking water secretary Shailesh Bagauli held a meeting on Thursday. In which the secretary has instructed the departmental officers to set up control rooms in every district.

Establishment of control room

In the meeting, the secretary instructed that a control room should be set up in each district to resolve the availability of drinking water, leakage and other complaints related to drinking water, which will operate as a call center. Assistant Engineer of Jal Sansthan, Jal Nigam will be nominated as the nodal officer in the control room. Who will resolve the complaints received on time.

Instructions given to install GPS in drinking water tankers

The secretary has instructed to ensure regular cleaning of drinking water tankers as well as GPS arrangements. So that water supply can be done smoothly. Also, instructions have been given to ensure the arrangement of adequate tankers on time. Apart from this, in the meeting, the secretary has instructed to run a special campaign of 15 days from April 1 to solve the problem of water wastage and leakage.

Special arrangements for Chardham Yatra

Keeping in mind the upcoming Chardham Yatra, Drinking Water Secretary Shailesh Bagauli has instructed the officials to ensure regular cleaning of mobile stand posts, tanks and water ATMs located on the Yatra route. Its purpose is to provide clean drinking water to the pilgrims on the Yatra route.
