It is necessary to end it and the Government of India will end it within a year. In the year 2024, 290 Naxalites were neutralized, 1090 were arrested and 881 surrendered. There were a total of 16,463 incidents of Naxalite violence between 2004 and 2014, while during the tenure of the Modi government, the number of violent incidents has decreased by 53 percent to 7,744 between 2014 and 2024. Similarly, the number of deaths of security forces has decreased by 73 percent from 1851 to 509 and the number of deaths of civilians has decreased by 70 percent from 4766 to 1495.
What did he say on terrorism?
Regarding terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Shah said, “The Modi government has a zero tolerance policy towards terrorism. Earlier, there was no action after terrorist attacks and people used to forget them. Terrorist attacks also took place in Uri and Pulwama, but we carried out surgical strikes and air strikes against Pakistan within 10 days. He said that 40,000 government jobs were provided in Jammu and Kashmir during 2019-24, 1.51 lakh self-employment was created, skill clubs were also started during this period. Deaths due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir decreased by 70 percent during the Modi government. Terrorist incidents also declined drastically during this period. The number of terrorist incidents here decreased from 7,217 between 2004 and 2014 to 2,242 (between 2014 and 2024). He said, “On August 5, 2019, PM Modi repealed Article 370. By repealing Article 370, the Modi government fulfilled the dream of ‘one constitution, one flag’ of the Constitution makers. There can be only one Prime Minister, one Constitution and one flag in the country.” What did he say about the change in the Home Ministry? Amit Shah said, “In a way, the Home Ministry works under very difficult circumstances. The Constitution has given the responsibility of law and order to the states. Border security and internal security come under the Home Ministry. This is a correct decision. There is no need to make any changes in it. But when the responsibility of law and order lies with the states, then after 76 years, now the situation is such that many types of crimes are no longer limited to the state boundary, they are also interstate and multistate – like narcotics, cyber crime, organized crime gangs, hawala. All these crimes do not happen just within one state. Many crimes in the country are also committed from outside the country. Therefore, keeping all this in mind, it becomes necessary to make changes in the Home Ministry. I say this with pride that in 10 years, PM Narendra Modi has made long-pending changes in the Home Ministry at one go to ensure national security.”
