There will be a bank strike next week, from SBI to PNB, work will be halted for 4 consecutive days

There is a bad news for the common bank customers of the country. There will be a bank strike for two consecutive days across the country next week. After the talks with the Indian Banks Association (IBA) were not successful, a nationwide bank strike is going to be held on 24 and 25 March under the leadership of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). The strike is expected to affect banking services in all government, private and regional rural banks. Let us tell you that all the banks of the country will remain closed on March 22 due to the fourth Saturday of the month and Sunday on March 23. After which there will be no work in the banks on Monday and Tuesday due to the strike. In such a situation, common people will not be able to get any work done in the bank branch for 4 consecutive days.
What are the demands of bank unions
UFBU had said on Thursday last week that the two-day nationwide strike on March 24 and 25 will be held as per the pre-decided schedule. UFBU said that no positive result could be achieved in the talks with the Indian Banks Association on the main demands of the employee organization. The unions are demanding adequate recruitment at all job levels to ensure adequate staffing, regularisation of temporary employees, implementation of 5 working days, withdrawal of performance reviews, better security measures for bank officers and employees and amendment to the Gratuity Act to increase the limit to Rs 25 lakh.
More than 8 lakh employees of 9 banks come under UFBU
UFBU represents 9 bank unions, which include more than 8 lakh employees of public sector banks, private banks, foreign banks, cooperative banks and regional rural banks. These unions include All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) and All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA). National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE) General Secretary L. Chandrasekhar said that despite the meeting, major issues remain unresolved. UFBU had earlier announced a strike over these demands.
