Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt has raised the issue of migration of Hindus from Pakistan and giving them shelter in the House. In which the government said that all the minorities suffering on religious grounds are being given shelter under the long-term visa rules.

In the Rajya Sabha, Bhatt has sought information on this subject from the Central Government under unstarred question number 2327. In which the Ministry of External Affairs was asked that due to violence and discrimination against the Hindu community from the neighboring country Pakistan, they are forced to migrate. Are such people migrating to any other province within Pakistan or to any other country. Similarly, what is the government’s stand on Hindus coming to India.
Government gave information on shelter policy
In response, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh said that reports of atrocities against minority communities have been received in Pakistan, which also includes members of the Hindu community. From time to time, incidents like threats, kidnapping, harassment, forced conversion and forced marriage have been coming to the fore, due to which they are forced to migrate.
Minister of State for External Affairs Many members of the minority Hindu community in Pakistan apply for Indian visas at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, which are processed as per existing rules. Some of them who came to India with valid visas have not returned to Pakistan on grounds of religious persecution.
Hindu migrants from Pakistan who are seeking permanent residence for the purpose of acquiring Indian citizenship are getting Long Term Visas (LTV) as per existing provisions. They have a chance of being granted citizenship as per future rules.
