According to the information, five friends had come to Rishikesh from Delhi for a trip. During this, while bathing, two youths drowned in the Rishikesh Cheela Shakti canal near the Kaudiyan bridge. With the promptness of the local shopkeeper, Akhilesh (24), a resident of Delhi, was rescued with the help of a chain.
Search for the other continues
The other youth Mayank (24), a resident of Delhi, was swept away in the strong current of water. As soon as the information of the accident was received, the SDARF team reached the spot. The rescue team is running a rescue operation in search of Mayank. Till the time of writing the news, no trace of Mayank has been found.
