Indian Premier League 2025 is going to start from 22 March. IPL 2025 has seen an important change this year. Now bowlers have been allowed to apply saliva on the ball. The BCCI approved this decision after the consent of the captains of most of the teams. In this way, IPL has become the first major tournament to allow the use of saliva after Kovid-19. Along with this, many other rules have also come into force. In such a situation, know the new rules before making a team on Dream 11.

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami had already spoken on the issue that without saliva, bowlers have difficulty in swinging and this game completely tilts in favor of the batsmen. South Africa’s Vernon Philander and New Zealand’s Tim Southee also supported Shami’s opinion.

Exemption on applying saliva
The BCCI discussed the issue in the captains’ meeting held in Mumbai and with the consent of the majority, lifted the ban on saliva. A senior BCCI official said, “Most of the captains were in support of this decision. Some were skeptical about it. But overall it was given the green signal.”

Impact player rule intact
Despite the displeasure of some players, the BCCI has decided to continue the ‘Impact Player’ rule till 2027.

Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya had objected to this rule. But officials say that this is giving opportunities to uncapped players.

DRS now for wide ball
DRS will be used to review wide balls high or outside the off-stump in IPL 2025. For this, the help of ‘Hawk Eye’ and ‘Ball Tracking’ technology will be taken.

The ball will be changed in the second innings

Keeping in mind the problem of dew, BCCI has decided that the ball will be changed after the 11th over of the second innings in the evening match. This will not be a new ball but a used ball so that the balance of the pitch is maintained.
