Uttarakhand: After Premchand Agrawal, demand for removal of Speaker Ritu Khanduri, Congress targets her, makes serious allegations

a
Premchand Agarwal’s controversial statement is not leaving BJP even after his resignation. After Premchand Agarwal’s resignation, BJP is engaged in damage control. On the other hand, the opposition party Congress is continuously attacking the government. On this issue, on Friday, March 21, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya and former Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kujwal held a press conference at the Congress State Headquarters in Dehradun. During this, he demanded the resignation of Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri and action against BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt.
Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that the way the then Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Agarwal used unparliamentary language in his address in the House during the budget session, the entire public of Uttarakhand has been hurt. Many agitators sacrificed their lives to create this state, only then Uttarakhand was obtained here.
Allegation of Congress
Yashpal Arya says that Congress has always emphasized that everyone has rights in the state, but the language used by Premchand Agarwal during the budget session has been condemned by everyone. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri should have taken immediate action against Premchand Agarwal and ordered his statement to be removed from the Assembly records. Also, she should have interrupted and stopped him from using such language.
Yashpal Arya said that for the kind of language Premchand Agarwal used in the House, Assembly Speaker Khanduri should have given him a notice and those words should have been removed from the proceedings of the House, but Assembly Speaker Khanduri did nothing like that, rather she kept listening to the insult of the public.
It is beyond comprehension that when Congress MLA Lakhpat Butola, who was elected to the Assembly for the first time, wanted to express his reaction to Premchand Agarwal’s statement decently, the Assembly Speaker instead insulted Butola. This behavior of the Assembly Speaker cannot be accepted. The fact that no action was taken against the Assembly Speaker for this misbehavior is creating doubt.
– Yashpal Arya- Leader of Opposition, Uttarakhand-
People holding constitutional posts are expected to behave in accordance with their position. In the same way, the House is run from the bench and not the government runs the House, the way the Speaker of the Assembly makes party members in the BJP’s membership campaign and participates in the party’s forums, all these activities are against the dignity of the post of the Speaker of the Assembly.
– Yashpal Arya- Leader of Opposition, Uttarakhand-
Apart from this, Yashpal Arya has also condemned the street-side statement of the BJP state president. Yashpal Arya has demanded action against Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri as well as Mahendra Bhatt. Apart from Yashpal Arya, former Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal also lashed out at the BJP.
Whatever happened in the Uttarakhand Assembly during the budget session, such an incident has never happened in the history of the entire country. Those who created this state would never have thought that such an incident would happen in the Assembly. Despite the presence of the Chief Minister of the state in the House, the then Parliamentary Affairs Minister created a controversy.
–Govind Singh Kunjwal, former Assembly Speaker-
Kunjwal says that after the words that came out of Agarwal’s mouth, the Speaker should have asked him to take back the words, but the Speaker remained silent. This further increased the controversy.
The post of Speaker is a constitutional post and he works above politics. Whereas he has nothing to do with political activities. BJP wants to divide the state into hills and plains. That is why the BJP leadership is silent on the misbehavior of its then minister, Assembly Speaker and State President.
–Govind Singh Kunjwal, former Assembly Speaker-
Kunjwal has raised the demand for the resignation of the Assembly Speaker and the BJP State President. He also said that if they are not removed from the post, it will become clear that the BJP wants to divide the state into two parts.
