A minor girl was injured during an encounter between security forces and a group of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Sunday evening. She was taken to the hospital where her condition is said to be stable. The encounter with terrorists started in Kathua when security forces were conducting a search operation there. Giving information about the incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police said that a search operation was going on in Hiranagar area of Kathua after which the firing incident came to light. There are reports of four to five terrorists.
At present, an encounter is going on between terrorists and security forces in Kathua. Actually, the Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police had received strong input that there is a presence of terrorists in the area. After that a search operation was started in the area. During this, an encounter started between the hiding terrorists and SOG soldiers. According to sources, the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir Police is also going to reach the encounter site.
According to the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army, a joint search operation was launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Rising Star Corps in Sanyal village near the International Border (IB) in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district after security forces intercepted a new group of four to five infiltrators. Officials said the operation is ongoing and additional forces have been sent to the spot.
