Mother… is not just a word but the whole world for a child. But what happens when the mother herself is after the life of her own child. In fact, a similar case has come to light from New York, America. Where a woman of Indian origin has been accused of slitting the throat of her 11-year-old son after vacationing for three days in ‘Disneyland’. Everyone is shocked to hear this news. In a statement issued by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office in California on Friday, it was said that Sarita Ramaraju (48) is accused of killing her son. Investigation is underway and if Sarita Ramaraju is found guilty, she can be sentenced to a maximum of 26 years.

What is the whole matter

Sarita left California after divorcing her husband in 2018. After the divorce, she did not have the custody of Sarita’s son but she was allowed to meet her son. Before the incident, Sarita was staying with her son at a motel in Santa Ana. She had bought three-day passes for Disneyland for herself and her son. On March 19, the day Sarita was to leave the motel and hand over her son to his father, she called the police at 9:12 a.m. to report that she had killed her son and taken pills to commit suicide. When Santa Ana police arrived at the motel, they found the child lying dead on a bed in a room surrounded by Disneyland memorabilia. The police statement said the boy appeared to have been killed several hours earlier.

Police said a large knife was found inside the motel room that had been purchased the day before. Sarita was hospitalized after consuming an unknown substance and was discharged Thursday. She was arrested on suspicion of killing her son.

The father had custody of the child

Sarita and her husband Prakash Raju had been in a legal battle for the right to custody of their son since last year. The right to custody of the child was handed over to his father Prakash. “The safest place for a child is in the arms of his parents,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said. “Instead of lovingly embracing her son, she slit his throat…”
