The opening match of IPL 2025 was played on Saturday. Where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a one-sided match at their home Eden Gardens. Batting first, KKR scored 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. But RCB achieved this target in 16.2 overs by losing only 3 wickets. In the first match of IPL 2025, KKR got off to a good start after batting first. But later their innings fell apart. Phil Salt gave the team a strong start by scoring 56 runs off 31 balls. Sunil Narine also added 44 runs off 26 balls. Angrish Raghuvanshi scored 30 runs off 22 balls.
But famous batsmen like Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Quinton de Kock and Venkatesh Iyer flopped badly. The result was that KKR could not go beyond 174 runs.
RCB dominated from the beginning
